Sixteen high school students from around the country researched a a client, Books for Keeps, and crafted a mini campaign during the ADPR Summer Academy June 12-16, 2023 at the University of Georgia Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Participants included: Teresa Carlisi, Hakyung Chae, Cory Corrilo, Mary Kate Couey, Sadie Douglas, Elise Hernandez, Caroline James, Jack Johnson, Raegan Miley, Kara Moffitt, Enesii Mwanjabala, Malia Powe, Rawan Sayed, Katya Schwartz, Albert Shmukler and Ellie Villareal,
Led by Prof. Tom Cullen and public relations student Isabella Martinez, the class researched and selected a non-profit client. Then, they developed a situation statement that included the following:
- Client History
- SWOT Analysis
- Target Audiences
- Goals & Objectives
In two groups, the students created an online campaign and an offline event. The online group was tasked with designing mock social media posts for four platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The offline group wrote a press release and designed promotional posters.
